“I rot on the wall, my own Dorian Gray.”
— Anne Sexton
Baseball and feelings, feelings and baseball. Turns out, Bakugou and Deku are both good and bad at the same things. They try to work on it.

Depends on what age the kid is, I’d say!
One - expect responsibility of them early, and be wealthy with praise. They need to know you can’t do it all, but they also need to feel super appreciated for what they do. But it IS really important that they’re asked early on to help clean or tidy or put away some groceries, or whatever their little or big hands can handle.
Two - everybody gets respect and you’ll get respect back. The worst thing in the world is to be a single parent who is at odds w your kid. If you listen to them, talk to them like an adult, and be good to them, they will almost inevitably be good to you and treat you with respect.
Three - be honest when things are tough for you. It doesn’t mean you as a parent should put the weight of the world on your kid. That’s not what it’s about. What it’s about is this: when you’re a single parent, your kid deserves to know why you can’t afford as much as the other kids, or why they can’t go out and do this or that, or why mom isn’t home as much, or why the child is expected to help with chores or (if older) cooking, laundry, etc.
Being a single parent is actually about encouraging a friendship of trust and respect with your kid so that they end up partially parenting themselves. Because, the truth is, it’s pretty much impossible to do it on your own.
I hope that helps or it’s something that you’re looking for?
